Bob -

As a former member of CRD-11 and now retired from active Naval Service I've been volunteering my spare time to the Bellingham International Maritime Museum (aka BIMM). BIMM is a non-profit, 501 (C)(3) organization formed to honor, celebrate, record and preserve the rich maritime history of Bellingham, Whatcom County, and Puget Sound, with a special emphasis on the Pacific Northwest regional trans-border nautical heritage shared by Washington State, British Columbia, and Alaska.

The Bellingham International Maritime Museum will fulfill a civic purpose in honoring the cultural and fraternal community of boat and ship builders who have produced, and continue to produce vessels and watercraft of unsurpassed quality, as well as celebrating the brave and patriotic men and women who crewed and served on them, especially the PBRs.

Many of the volunteers with BIMM are members of either Gamewardens of Vietnam Inc and/or PBR Forces Veterans Association Inc.

Some of the many projects currently in progress are:

* ?The PBR ? PACV Restoration Program?
* Goals:
A fully and authentically restored, operational, and sea-going Bellingham built US Navy PBR (Patrol Boat River) Mk1. (United Boat Builders) 1966. Our project boat is 31RP6665.
* A fully restored, operational, and sea-going Bellingham built US Army PBR Mk II (Uniflite, Inc.) 1972. Our project boat is 31RP7210.
* The sole surviving US Navy BHC built PACV (Patrol Air Cushion Vehicle) (Bell Aerosystems) 1965. Our project craft is SK-5 #004.
* An authentic re-creation of the US Army Bell SK-5 AACV (Assault Air Cushion Vehicle) 1968. Our project craft is BHC serial #026, reg.#GH2012.

We are also in the process of acquiring, through Gamewarden of Vietnam Inc and Naval Ships Historical Society, a fully functional PBR which, once it has been overhauled, will be on permanent display along with other PBRs currently being refurbished. BIMM can be viewed on the internet at www.bimm.us Please check us out to see all the projects we're currently undertaking

Please pass this information on to former members of CRD/SBU-11 and any other interested individuals.

See you in September.

Regards.

Bob - Mary -

Attached are two pictures of Mike and myself which were taken this morning. A picture of the two of us together did not develop - it was out of focus. Hope these will meet your needs.

Both of us are standing in front of PBR-210, in the background is PBR-335.

See you in September.
